Below is a short guide to keeping your glass looking its best!!
Never wash your art glass in a dishwasher. The high temperature of dishwashers can cause glass to crack and the detergent can also damage the glass surface and give your glass a cloudy appearance.
Wash glass items in warm soapy water and add white vinegar to the rinse water to prevent spotting and fogging, allow to dry naturally.
Keep water temperatures constant as a sudden change in temperature can crack your glass.
Don't put your glass next to a radiator to dry.
Use a new soft cloth, never scouring pads or similar.
Take off rings as they may scratch the glass.
Clean one item at a time, in this way you reduce the chance of hitting two items and breaking them.
To clean difficult areas a soft bottle brush is a must.
Lime scale remover used in bathrooms and kettles works on some stains put it on neat then rinse off the vase. Another method is to soak your glass over night in Sterident denture cleaner. If the lime scale stain is thick, this is a different matter and can require a glass specialist.
When displaying your glass make sure that the display lighting is not close to the glass as this can cause high temperatures and again your glass may crack.
Try to keep your glass out of direct sunlight.
